You’ve come to the right place. There are 2 categories here,
✻For iPhones you need to make sure everything is backed up to your iCloud.
✻WhatsApp needs to be backed up before you’ve made the switch through the app itself.
On the new phone, everything will be automatically restored once you log-in to your iCloud. Please note when installing WhatsApp, you will get the option to restore
your messages once, if you miss it you will have to delete the app and re-install it again.
For Andriod Phones, everything has to be backed up to your Gmail Account,
✻ Backup Contacts
✻ Backup media and chats on WhatsApp
✻ Backup other Media to Google Photos
The same will be restored once you log-in to your Gmail Account on your new phone. When installing WhatsApp please ensure to restore.
